Vista = Ho hum.... yawn.....

More proof of vistaflop.....

So last Thursday was Windows Vista Launch Day . finally. But while Microsoft
had its banners flying, some folks I know were more on the ho-hum scale. My
buddy Paul Lindo, an IT consultant, was wondering if "it might just be
Windows XP with a prettier face."
And it's true that Vista suffered several features "adjustments" as well as
a lengthier-than-expected road to shrink, including the infamous 2004
dumping of WinFS and its resulting ground-up re-programming effort. So while
the rest of the business world was wondering about the effects of all this
Vista voodoo, I wanted to hear Microsoft's opinion. My invite to the actual
launch event, however, seems to have been lost in the mail -ahem!, so I had
to call Microsoft to find out. Surprise, surprise, they're happy as clams.

LOL.... GEE what was I saying all a long for months now???
LOL its not only that its XP with a prettier face.. its actually WORSE than
XP in many many ways! They wont be smiling like clams when the will see very
poor sales... and actually
the scream of the IT specialists (especially in business) to avoid vista at
all cost. Clams is a good analogy...
they seem to have the brain capacity of a clam. I bet they are sweating like
steaming clams... but of course they can
not say publicly that we have a flop on our hands.. so they say we have a
winner...

Lets all skip Vista and wait for Vienna.. perhaps THEN they will do
something right.. because in vista
they did not do anything right. VistaFlop!

They won't see poor sales. They'll see astronomical sales. Why? Because the
overwhelming majority of OS sales go out via preloaded new PCs. And this
iteration of the latest OS will be no different. The perceived "worth" of
the new OS is not a factor. In the off-the-shelf software business, the rule
is, keep-up or perish.

Only on new PC's... However I see this happening...

Users will often ask for XP instead of vista on their machines...
just like the good ol' days when they were asking for win98SE instead of
winME.
Win ME had no astronomical sales.. in fact it is ridiculed by everyone up to
this day.
I see that people once they see what vista is, they will call back to the
stores and demand the OS
be changed to XP. The denial of this will create a huge commotion .. you
will see in the following months what will happen. Microsoft will try its
slimy ways to make people go to vista,
by offering Vista Only applications for free.. so they can push their OS...

but it will be an effort in vain.... vista is a joke.

Why? XP is cleaner, faster, and has a simpler interface.... people are used
to it...
and vista has nothing new to offer really. On the other hand, vista has many
problems,
and very bad design.

Correct. Because developers will advise their clients to stay with what
works until the new OS is proven. I'm sure that happened a lot with ME. IMHO
it's very foolish for an existing business to move to the newest OS when
upgrading hardware. Let the home users who don't know what they're doing be
the guinea pigs. One of my clients is a very large world wide insurance
company employing thousands. It took them 4 years to move from windows 2k to
xp because they couldn't afford the risk of upgrading everyone to an OS that
wasn't yet proven.

In the USA, maybe, not in Europe. Then again, in the USA, most people
voted for Bush so it follows that most people in the USA will vote for
an HP, DELL or eMachine. ROFL.

Hogwash. The most successful computer chains where I live, Spain, sell
white boxes and come with a generic OEM Windows CD or will install Linux
for free.

Remember, Frankie, this is an international newsgroup, not a USA newsgroup.

Does this sound familiar -

Well all that was said about the Windows XP move from Windows 2000
Professional and I would have bet if you were around then you would
have said exactly the same thing.
So, time moves on as do products - it is a pity that attitudes like
yours only stay the same - to be proven wrong time and again

I have never said that XP was not a huge improvement over win2000
nor am I resistant to change. I am resistant to stupidity, and vista is
stupid.

You want to make your own little theories, but they are false.

I have never said that a version of windows was bad accept in these 2
occasions:

Win Me (everyone agrees with me)
Win Vista (everyone WILL agree with me soon enough)

" Then again, in the USA, most people voted for Bush"

NOT so!
We have this out-dated thing called the Electoral College.
Whomever gets the most Electoral College votes gets the Presidency.
By first stealing Florida (actually the Supreme Court GAVE Florida to Bush)
and then stealing Ohio did Bush became President.

Actually, here in the US, I very rarely ever hear Americans, except Fox News
and the talk radio Bushanistas, deride Europeans.

But it certainly seem the favorite sport of Europeans to lambaste and pompously
sneer at Americans?

What has Europe done about Darfur?

Sorry... excuses.. You cannot escape the law of vistupidity.

If you like vista, then you are stupid...

I see you have run out of material, one IT consultant doen't think much of
Vista = it's a flop, it's not up to your usual high standard of joke.

Perhaps you need a new subject.

I wont have to post much longer... since once vista will start being sold...

this newsgroup will be in chaos from people crying out in despair...

Then you will see that I have always been totally right.

yet you will still have that crooked smile on your face playing with the
flip 3d shortcut on vista..

saying wheeeeeee......

What European has done for HIV/AIDS/Malaria what the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation and Bill Clinton ($0.16/day -- $60.00/year for AIDS medications in
Africa)?

What European?

Iraq = one on the many Bush crimes, including many crimes against the American
people themselves (the death of habeas corpus, illegal spying, illegal incarceration
of American citizens).

Are people *still* peddling these lies? Even the New York Times - hardly a
Republican paper - after counting the Florida votes declared Bush the
winner.

The Supreme Court stopped Gore from stealing Florida. His "Let's keep
recounting the votes until I win" strategy was a transparent attempt to
seize power.

Besides, had Gore won his own home state (Tennessee), Florida wouldn't have
mattered. If the people who know you best don't vote for you, that speaks
volumes.

FACT: Gore won the popular vote
FACT: "an inconvenient truth": Bushinista illegally banned voter roles, lack of poling places
minority areas,etc.
