Vista HAL.dll credssp.dll and User Profile Errors

I'm really starting to dislike Vista! Last week everything worked fine. I
turned on my laptop (Gateway) over the weekend and ran McAfee virus scan and
powered back down. This morning I'm booting up and get:

1. C0000139 entry point not found. ntoskrnl.exiacquirefastmuteex not located
in HAL.dll. I restarted and got by this but...

2. After entering my signon credientials: credssp.dll not designed to run on
Windows or contains an error. After pushing enter...

3. Some message about unable to load my profile and I was using a temp
profile.

4. At least I can work but whenever I fire up Firefox I get a chrome
registration error.

Can't seem to find anything helpful out there. I did a system restore and
that didn't help. I created a new user profile and #3 went away. But I still
get 1,2,4 every time I boot up. In fact, I get 2 often while working in Vista.

Any ideas? This isn't the first time I've had bizarre problems with Vista,
and I don't do or run anything crazy!

Thank you!
