Vista DVD burning issues

I am running Home Premium and using Windows DVD Maker to put together a
movie. All the pieces are in the program and everything looks great. I have
the right kind of burnable disk in the drive, but when I hit the "Burn"
button, if the disc has not been formatted already, it will encode .7% and
stop and, if the disc has been formatted, then it tells me that it will not
burn because the disc is not recordable.

Anyone else with something even remotely resembling this issue? I'm pulling
what's left of my hair out!

Wow, I just went thru the exact same issue with Vista and Windows Movie
Maker. Did you add a Roxio program? I did and Roxio 8 is not compatiable
w/Vista and I believe it corrupted by entire E drive. I had to send my
entire 1 month old computer in to Gateway for repair. Well, my problem now
is that when you are able to create a movie in Movie Maker it is encryped and
so you cannot copy it. Would you know how to decrypt?

I tried to use Roxio thinking that maybe if I used a different program I
would have better results. I was disappointed in that software because it
wouldn't recognize the video format I was trying to input (WMV) and what I
coule manage to create looked crappy anyway. I didn't even get around to
burning anything. Maybe it is better that I didn't hearing what happened to
you.

Maybe try saving as .AVI file in Movie Maker, and then open in Roxio.
