Can't Burn DVD

G

Guest

I'm using the free trial version of DVD Ulead Movie Factory 5 and am trying
to burn the home movie I made, which is about 25 minutes in length. Anyways
the problem is that when I actually try to burn the movie, the Disc Type says
there is no disc, it says it is empty. I am using a DVD+R and do not know
what is wrong... can anyone help me?

What format is the movie saved in?

Do you have a DVD burner? If you do...
is it compatible with DVD+R?

Have you tried different media? Some
are better than others.

Isn't DVD Ulead Movie Factory a DVD burner? I'm sorry if I found ignorant but I'm new to this whole thing on movie making, is there a media you would recommend?

DVD Ulead Movie Factory would be called
DVD Authoring software...but in order to actually
burn a DVD you must have a DVD burner. You
cannot burn a DVD with a CD burner. The front
of your disk drive would be labeled something
like: DVD R/RW - DVD ReWritable.

As for media, I've had good luck with Verbatim
DVD-R but that's not to say there are not many
good brands. The link I gave you has lots of
reviews of the various brands.

In the event that you do not have a DVD
burner...all is not lost. You can create a
VCD (Video Compact Disk) with a blank
CD in your CD burner. (Most DVD players
will play a VCD).

Check your ULead manual...it will explain
how to create a VCD.

OK thank you, it seems to have worked when I made the VCD, but is there
anyway that I can get a DVD burner or is that only something that comes with
the computer

Excellent! I'm glad you have some
success in creating your project..

Yes you can purchase a DVD burner
and install it in your computer case.
If you do not feel comfortable adding
hardware to your computer...almost
all retailers offer an installation service.

Also there are external DVD burners
that can be connected to a USB port.

I'm not specifically recommending the
following burner...I only offer the link as
an example of what's available:

LiteOn External EZ-DUB 16x
DVD+R/RW Dual Layer Drive

Well thanks, you really helped me out, I seriously had no idea what the
problem was. I think I'm going to end up splitting it and sending it to my
labtop which apparently has a DVD burner, seriously thanks alot.
