Vista doesn't boot, no BIOS screen

I have seen many hard drive failures. In the majority of cases the computer
will post and tell you that the operating system can not be found. But, it
will post!

Peter Foldes agreed, saying: "Hard Drive is gone south." Yet he told
the OP to buy an enclosure and take the data off - off of a supposedly
DEAD drive.

I'm amazed.

At least the OP knows that getting the data off the drive before
handing the machine over to a tech is the way to go.

If you put the drive in the freezer for a few hours, it may work better.
