Hi Nana,

No genius at all, but you do know how to make one smile :>)
Glad you got it all sorted out and once again you can enjoy your system as
one should,

well it goes to show that Norton anything sucks
and AVG free will use less memory and resources.
glad you are back in business

Hi, (Note: I posted this on a general vista group before I discovered this
security forum. Sorry for the double post)...
I'm on Vista Home Premium and I've got Norton 2007.2 Anti-Virus software
installed (it's Vista compatible). I've even done a successful, full virus
scan. I installed the Norton 2007 just after the Vista upgrade.

For some reason, Vista does not recognize the Norton program and I have a
'danger'/security alert in my task bar saying my computer is maybe at risk.
If I click that icon, it takes me to the Security Center where it says that
Vista sees no Anti-Virus Software on my computer.

I do have a spy sweeper program as well but that is recognized ok by Vista.

What could be causing this?

Many Thanks for any assistance,....Frank

Go back into the Security area and change the setting to let YOU
manage the anti-virus instead of Vista. Then the error message will go
away.
