Hi, couldn't find the Windows Vista Newsgroups even though googled it, gave
me a site which was no longer valid etc etc
Anyway I have an HP Mobile Workstation and it already has XP Pro but want to
dual boot it. HP told me Vista Business requires a 2 gig partition is this
right or should I give the partition more space for the OS?
Thanks!

This doesn't help me. I need to know how big the Vista Business partition
needs to be. Like I said I have XP Pro and will dual boot with Vista Business.

The Vista DVD is 2gb!! If you are going to install applications along with
Vista Business, you will need 60 to 80gb..

Hi
I think the recommended size for vista is 15gb.

Don't shoot the messenger brother. That's what the "outsourced" HP person
told me. OK, I am only interested to know how much space I need to allocate
for Vista. Applications for now will run off XP Pro until Windows 7 comes
out. I just want to play with Vista Business not install apps right now.

That's way off the mark!

On my Vista Business installation, just the Windows folder (and all of
its sub-folders) takes up 16.5GB. Microsoft states the minimum is "A
20GB hard drive with 15 GB of free space," (but fails to make it
immediately clear that that is for Vista Home Basic) and that doesn't
allow much room for anything but the bare bones OS. The official
recommended minimum for Vista Premium/Business/Ultimate is " a 40GB hard
drive with at least 15 GB free."
