Vista boot up trouble

Bart

I have vista loaded on an INtel 865 motherboard with a 500 Gb SATA drive as
the C drive. Installation was fine. If I reboot, I get the error about not
having a boot device. If I have the Vista DVD in the ROM drive, I get the
message about booting from Disc, but if I ignore it, the computer boots up
from the Hard drive. I want to be able to to take the disc out of the drive
and boot normally. Any ideas?

I haven't had that problem, but have used this solution for other strange
boot issues:

Boot from the CD, then choose the repair option. I have found that even
when it says it did not find a problem, on the next boot, the system works
fine. Don't know why that is.
