I have read several issues about the 80060241 problem during installation of
Vista build (ISO of 23 march 2006).

This is what i have tried/done:

Downloaded the ISO grom MSDN (3,355,598,848 bytes).
Burned it with Nero at low speed. Booting desktop (CTP februari release
worked and installed fine on it). During copying files 3% I got the message:
" An error occured shile copying setup files onto your local machine Error
code is 80070241".

Did this again in another machine and on my laptop. Same results at 3%.
Tried different keys but most tests were with Ultimate key.

Burned the DVD again, same tests, same result.

Copied the files from the DVD to harddisk and network, started the
installation, same results.

Used Deamon403 (as suggested on this board), same result.

Bios upgrade, and changed PATA-SATA setting to native (as suggested on this
board). same results.

Downloaded another copy and did all the different installations again, on
all three machines. From DVD under XP, while booting the DVD itself and with
Deamon.

In ALL cases during copying at 3% I get this error.

Some help would be nice, after 8 hours of trying.......

Tips for how to file a problem report

Here are some things to consider when filing a problem report:

Please file your report as soon as possible after you find a problem. The
sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can investigate and try to fix the
problem.

Please provide a brief, descriptive title. The title is the first thing we
see when we get the report, so a succinct, clear title will help us
effectively identify and prioritize the problem.

Please provide enough detail in the description for us to understand the
problem. The more detail you can provide, the better.

Please provide the steps we can follow to reproduce the problem. Any
incorrect or missing steps can prevent us from being able to reproduce and
address the problem.
If you have any supplemental files, screen shots, etc., that will help us
investigate the problem, please attach those to your report. Seeing a
picture can sometimes help us identify the problem more quickly.

The link on the desktop of Vista after installation?
That is the problem in the first place ;-)

After all the things I tried and reading posts on this board, I downloaded
the ISO from MSDN again yesterday. Installing went great this time (first
installed XP on this machine from a bootable DVD and with Deam tools I
installed Vista along the XP installation).

Later I will try to in stall from the bootable DVD on both other machines.

I dont know what is wrong with he other ISO's I downloaded (same size but
maybe a something IN the ISO that is wrong). I didn't a compare at this
moment but at least I've got a working 5383 build running.
