Vista Backups

I have 4 machines. 1 running Vista Ultimate x64, 2 running Vista Home
Premium, one laptop running XP Media Center. All of the vista machines run on
RAID drives, two striped and one mirrored. I would like to backup all
machines to a WD NetCenter network drive. I have read that native backup will
not backup to a network drive. I also have storage partitions on each Vista
machine where I already backup should Windows itself crash, but would like to
do either full or select backups to network drive. I used to use Ghost, but
earlier versions had problems with RAID volumes, and I am not a big fan of
Norton anyway. What would be the best approach for my situation? Thanks in
advance for assistance.

I would use a USB drive or network server instead of a network drive. Don't
those network drives just use FTP basically?

I use Cobian 7 from http://www.cobian.se for backup on all my PCs including
Vista. One PC backs up my XP and W2K3 PCs but Vista has to run its own copy
of Cobian and backup to a USB drive. I haven't resolved the networking to
get XP to see Vista. Not that it is difficult or problematic; I just
haven't bothered because the need has not arisen.
