Vista and XP 32 bit OS

I have 64 bit Vista installed on my computer and find that several programs
do not function well or at all in the 64 bit environment and some hardware
does not have drivers for Vista. Can I install a 32 bit version of Vista and
or XP on a computer with a 64bit processor? I understand that Vista and XP
can coexist on the same computer if they are on different partitions. I've
also seen info that indicates the 64 bit Vista cannot be installed on a
computer with a 32 bit processor. I've not been able to find info on
installing a 32 bit operating system on a computer with a 64 bit processor.
Are they backward compatile?

Yes, you can install a 32Bit OS on a 64Bit CPU with zero problems. Heck, you
can install a 16Bit OS on it, as well.

Thanks for the response. I've got a 16 bit OS but its on 5 1/4 floppies.
It may even be 8 bit for all I know. :)
