Vista and Outlook - office 2003

Hi,

Bought a brand new machine, installed vista - everything fine.

Then used the Windows file transfer to get everything across from my old PC
- again everything fine.

Then I needed to install office, so got my office 2003 and installed it....
now my email program has reverted to outlook 2003!!! How do I get it back to
the version that came with Vista without losing all my emails and accounts.

Any help appreciated.

I think if you just uninstall Outlook 2003 everything should be OK (I
haven't actually done it, so I'm guessing. Maybe one someone else knows
more). Open Windows Mail and make sure all of your accounts and messages are
still in there first. If not, you should be able to import all that stuff
from Outlook before you remove Outlook.

As an added precaution you might consider exporting all your contacts and
messages from Outlook before you remove Outlook.

You might just try running Windows Mail. When you installed Outlook 2003, it
registered itself as you e-mail package. When you run Windows Mail, it
should as if you want it to be your primary e-mail software.

Just a Guess,

You can change your default email program back to Windows Mail in Internet
Options, Programs, Set Programs. When you installed Office, you automatically
selected Outlook as the default. If you don't need Outlook and its advanced
features, you can change it.
