We ahve an OVS agreement with MS. It's clear as mud from our supplier
though as to what key we need for activation. I'm reading about KMS keys
and MAK key's. Looks like KMS is for 25 clients on a network and MAK is for
larger enterprises. Can anyone clarify this for me please? Any web links
would be good too.

MAK ( multiple access key ) is a single PID that allows you to activte a
user defined number of Vista licenses... generally thru Volume licensing.

KMS on the otherhand is a BOX you set up in your organization that the Vista
desktops authendicate with .. that you manage.. plusses and minuses here ..
your desktops have to re-authendicate every 180 days or so .. however the
PID stays within your organization and if stolen or compramised will only
talk to your corporate box.

MAK for me is the way to go .. just understand each time you authendicate
with your MAK pid .. your pool of licenses are decreased.... whether you
authendicate a copy at work or authendicate a copy at home..
