Windows Vista Vista Activation on 2nd drive

A way to get round activation on a 2nd drive would be to use an external USB drive.:thumb:

I thought I could install vista on another internal hard drive or does it need to be a usb one, or can it be both??

wizkid, please don't bump threads this quickly - it's only been a few hours! If someone knows, they'll post :)

If you no longer use the 1st drive to boot from, then I don't see why you can't activate it on the 2nd. I upgraded my PC with a new and I activated Vista for a 2nd time (you might need to ring MS on an 0800 number though). You can't have Vista on two drives at the same time though.

Hi all,

I have today connected my other hdd and it seems to be working all. although it does seem to vibrate a bit more than the other drive is this normal?

Can you please advsie

Thanks again,

wizkid

As long as it doesn't rattle or click then I wouldn't worry - all drives sound different. :)
