Vista 64 Windows email - home prem ed. screen blanks out excpt too

after getting an email update, i open email , and for one second the screen
appears normal. left pane of folders, large center pane with list of
individual emails, and right pane had a single email partly open to preview.
tool bars on top.
The next second the email screen goes bland except for the tool bars on top.
the email window is still open but the content disappears. the three panes
disappear. i have tried all the options and nothing seems to restore it.

Do a trial uninstall of your antivirus to see if that helps.
