Vista 64 Update?

i cannot seem to figure out the MS Windows Update for this OS. i do not like
my updates to do anything automatic. I just check about once every 1-2
weeks. problem is that I cannot get to the same update page as I am used to
with another machine that I run using XP Pro. What am I missing here? Is
there a way to set it to simulate what it looked like with XP? I mean, I
want to get used to the way Vista does thing, but for some things, being
that this new laptop of mine needs some things updated and whatnot, I don't
want to figure out what to do and chance messing something up. For now, I
just need updates Thanks much.

You no longer go to a web page for updates.
If you want to manually check for updates you do so on the Windows Update
link on the System applet from Control Panel or Windows Update in Control
Panel.
You can set the settings you want such as install or just notify of new
updates etc yourself in this applet, click Change Setting to see all the
options.
