Vist Bus- won't boot to login when put on domain

I have an HP Pavilion (AMD 4600+) with Vista Bus. 32-bit. As soon as I
switch it to a domain- it won't boot to a login prompt.
I get the green bar going acroos the screen, the round windows logo appears,
I see the mouse pointer, it plays the windows sound and then the screen goes
blue. Looks like it goes blue just as the login prompt is coming up.
I get into safe mode fine. TImezone is setok and the time is in sync with
the server. Any ideas.
 
Problem solved. It turned out to the the ATI External Event Utility service
- a known problem with the Vista ATI Catalyst driver.
