Visited links not changing color

As of about 3 or 4 days ago, links of pages that I've
been have stopped changing colors. I searched Microsoft
support but found nothing. I found a few references in
this forum with people having the same or similar
problem, but no fixes. When I click on a link, I see it
change from blue to purple, but when I go back to the
page, the link is blue again. I can even hit the stop
button after the link turns purple, hit the refresh, and
it's blue again.

I am running XP Professional all service packs and
critical updates. IE6 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633
