Links No Longer Change Colors...

Hi all,
In the past 2 days, something has changed on my computer. When I click on a
link, in IE, the color of the link no longer changes color. It use to change
to a purple once I had visited the link; now it stays the regular blue. I
have tried this on a different computer, so I know that it is my system, and
not a change to the web site I am visiting. I tried to change the values in
the IE options menu, but it still does not work correctly.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thank you,
BJR

Hi,
This usually indicates a damaged (corrupted) History folder.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.

To delete the History folder manually in Windows XP:
Login as another user with administrator privileges, or from the machine's
default administrator account (startup in safe mode.) Make sure that you can
see hidden and system files (Folder Options> View) then delete the affected
History folder from Windows Explorer. It will be at [C:\Documents and
Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\History] Restart the computer.

Holy Smokes Don! Thanks for that info! I had the same problem and couldn't
figure a solution. I ran Norton Diagnostics and restored my system to a
point before this problem started appearing, but nothing worked.

After some searching here I read your post. I downloaded History Eraser and
that did the trick. I don't know who you are masked man, but thank you so
much!
