Viruses Detected, What Next?

I recently switched from NAV to PC-Cillin. It found multiple viruses
that NAV did not. My question is, once PC-Cillin has detected,
quarantined/deleted the file, what is the next step?

The reason I ask this is that when I am researching the "sollution"
none of the Registry keys show up that they say should. Is the AV
program doing this (deleting the registries)? I also had this
(problem?) happen to me on NAV.

Not sure, but a good anti-virus program usually deletes the registry entries
also.
Try running the anti-virus in Safe Mode and see what happens.
Does your anti-virus still detect the same things?
Where does it find them?(possibly in the Restore file if using XP).

If you want a second opinion,.. without closing down PC Cillin (or any
other resident avir), install Clam as a second (on demand) scanner.
it runs fine alongside any avir I know. I use it alongside Avast.
