Virus "W32.Swen.A@mm" sent to me by microsoft?

Helen

I just received an email from "Customer Bulletin"
<yaxvqqebmgyt@technet_msn.com> with a Microsoft branded
email that stated they were sending me the latest
security update, the "October 2003, Cumulative Patch"
[labled "Patch.exe"],"...which resolves all known
security vulnerabilities affecting MS Internet Explorer,
MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express as well as three newly
discovered vulnerabilities...."

I am very leary about these things, but it was branded
with Microsoft's logo and links to their website. I
haven't downloaded it, but I did run a check with Norton
that said it had the virus "W32.Swan.A@mm"

It this truly a Microsoft patch, or is it a fake? If
someone wants me to forward the email to them to look at
it, just let me know.

I'm so confused, but my Internet Explorer keeps hogging
all of my CPU and I'm constantly having to exit and
restart the program that I am hoping that this is a
legitimate patch that will work.

Please advise. Thanks!

This is a well-known fake. Do NOT open the attachment! MS never sends
patches and executable files by e-mail.

re:Microsoft will NOT send a downloadable file. They
will direct you to a download site. Checkout Microsoft.com
