VIRUS URGH!

PETERFST

Dowloaded the insidious Antivirus 2008 virus Saturday Nov. 8th 2008. If I use
the system restore and choose an earlier date, will I loose this bug?
Should I scan and remove with a virus detecton program while in the safe
mode?
Please help...........Peter in SLC.

Run malwarebytes from Safe Mode.

PETERFST,
Download and run malwarebytes best piece of software for your problem,
oh and run it in safe mode.

Interesting............Thanx for the suggestion, however, I cannot (or "it"
won't let me) connect with www.malwarebytes.org either in I.E. or Firefox.
Is that web site still viable or is this bug that good? Have had to copy and
paste web addresses in order to get around the web as I'm redirected
sometimes . I think IT's afraid of malwarebytes.

No, not completely. A system restore may refresh the registry, but it won't
do anything to installed program files.

Should I scan and remove with a virus detecton program
while in the safe mode?

Sure, that's the best way.

Oh yeah, what about "system restore"? Never used it in 4 years. So, what is
it for?

Now guess what? I cannot boot up in the safe mode. Just keeps going around in
a circle. Should I restore, then try booting up in safe mode?
