Virus shut down DVD drive

Can someone help me fix this problem? I can't clean hard drive and restore
XP until i get the drive back to normal. It has nothing to do w/ drivers.
This happened last year from a virus. Thanks.

So Janet, what you done last year to solve the problem!
Run a thorough scan with your security software and also have a look arround
and run a scan from another well trusted security vendors to make sure your
security package doing it's job and not missing something.
Things to look at:
- How much Deskspace you got.
- How much RAM you have on this machine installed.
- Did you insert an infected media storage to get infected and what made you
make this assumption!

If you mean that you can't boot from CD, you need to set the boot order in
your BIOS. Look for something like 'Press XX to change boot order' when you
start your computer before the XP logo appears.
