Virus scanners can't find any virus, while my computer is still sl

Nor SpyBot, nor Ewido, nor Microsoft AntiSpyware can't find any viruses
anymore. I have been infected for 2 days now, after using so much guide and
advices. The viruses seems to have been wiped out. The last Hacked Tools that
Panda ActiveScan Pro found, was SmitEm (or something in the lines, kinda like
SmitFraud) I downloaded that utility from a guide to get rid of viruses and
SpyWareQuake. but it was listed as a Hacking Tool, so I dunno :/

Oh by the way, some names of the viruses and malware that infected me were:

Torjan Downloader, Behaveslike Torjandownloader, VCoded, SpyWareQuake,
SpyAxe, Need2Find, Tracking Cookies ect...

No more threat has been found by any of the scanners, but my computer is
still sloooooow and oh, since I have been infected the button "PROGRAMS"
doesn't work anymore (as in when you push the "START" button, the "PROGRAMS"
button won't open anymore, you know when you push that button you get acces
for example NERO, ACESSORIES ect... and much of the things you have installed
so far)

So my question is, am I still infected even though no virus scanners find
any? And how can I protect myself better against threats, whitout having any
annoying firewall pop-ups every time I do something? Because when I got
infected my main firewall was shut off and I had no anti-virus on (>_<)

The Tools you have used, SpyBot etc are malaware tools, they are not
designed to find / clean viruses

You need;
1) a proper firewall (win firewall stops only incoming)
2) a decent AV solution eg Kaspersky

You also need to configure any firewall properly otherwise you will be open
to all sorts of nasties
Any Firewall popups/msgs are given for a purpose, ignore or incorrectly
allow, will open your sys to infection, which seems what you have done.

You might try an online scan at one or two eg Symantec / McAfee / Trend /
Kaspersky
Ensure you have turned off sys restore, untill your sys is clean.
You might also try the Win sys File checker.

Hello ,
I have used other Anti-Virus [not anti-spyware] products to scan for
"Virus" . Then I remove the anti virus program to keep "my" Anti-Virus
program from being interfered . (2) Anti-Virus programs is not good at all .
Adding a "router" will build a great defence with its firewall enabled . And
(1) Firewall is all the PC needs . Several anti-spyware programs are
recommended . Install a real full time running/background running
Anti-Spyware blocker :Webroot Spy Sweeper . Ad-Aware SE is free .

Dangerous advice. A router won't **necessarily** protect a computer against
viruses or spyware.

You already started a thread on this subject matter and it was posted Yesterday in an
apopropriate place.

Please do not post multiple times on the same subject matter. The News Group you already
posted to is best equipped with persoannel to deal with what you have.

I'll post thes instruction one LAST time...

Two part reply..

Perform Part 1 then perform Part 2.

If the first two parts don't work, perform the alternate utility.

It is suggested that you execute each tool in Normal Mode then in Safe Mode.

If you are using any version of Sun Java that is prior to JRE Version 5.0,
then you are strongly urged to remove any/all versions that are prior to JRE
Version 5.0. There are vulnerabilities in them and they are actively being exploited.
It is possible that is how you got infected with malware.

Therefore, it is highly suggested that if there are any prior versions of Sun Java
to Version 5 on the PC that they be removed and Sun Java JRE Version 5.0 Update 6
be installed ASAP.

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Part 1
-----------

Use noahdfear's SmitFraud, SpyAxe, SpyFalcon, et. al., removal tool -- SmitRem.exe
http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click counter/click.php?id=1

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic43659.html

Part 2
-----------

Download SmitFraud.exe from the URL --
http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/SmitFraud.exe

Execute; SmitFraud.exe { Note: You must accept the default of C:\McAfee }
Choose; Unzip
Choose; Close

NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to go through your
FireWall to enable WGET.EXE to download the needed McAfee related files.

Execute; c:\mcafee\clean.bat
{ or Double-click on 'Clean Link' in c:\mcafee }

A final report in HTML format called C:\mcafee\Normal_ScanReport.HTML or
C:\mcafee\Safe_ScanReport.HTML will be generated. At the end of the scan, it will be
displayed in your browser (Opera, FireFox or Internet Explorer). However, if you are using
WinXP, Win2K or Win2003 your system will be left in a state where you will have to manually
shutdown/reboot the PC. On Win9x/ME platforms the report will not be shown in your bowser
but your PC will automatically be shutdown. It is suggested that you move the report out of
c:\mcafee before performing another scan.

It would be best to scan in both Safe Mode and in Normal Mode and save a copy of the HTML
report for each session.

ALTERNATE:

Secured2K's SpyAxe, PSGuard, Smitfraud, Sinnaka and Alemod removal tool.

http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/AntiPuper.exe

http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=65072

Please Copy and Paste the contents of the HTML Log files;
C:\mcafee\Normal_ScanReport.HTML & C:\mcafee\Safe_ScanReport.HTML in your reply.

Obviously, Sacred Fury, obviously...

format C: or Recovery CD...

Windows XP SP2 + all critical updates

firewall activated

virus scanner (Kaspersky...) activated

highest security (no active X, no Javascript...)

*and* keep off the dark sites of cyberspace;-)
