Thinking a trojan virus wrecked my computer.

I have been trying off & on to get my computer back to where I have
audio, video, windows updating service & who knows what else might have been
took over but I don't seem to have the trojan anymore after alot of tech time
with microsoft & my ex anti virus company but none of them undid any of the
things they had me doing & this computer is a mess I get a blank screen when
trying to access device manager I get "Can not collect information" when
trying to access system information, Say cannot access Windows management
instrumentation software. Windows management files may be moved or missing &
I haven't been able to get it to restore successfully either.
I also don't have sound to my speakers anymore and on shut downs I get a
dwwin error message & to top it all off I bought this computer off ebay
thinking the OS cd came with it but I only have a copy or maybe a backup cd
that someone copied but I do have the mainboard cd with the some drivers on
it along with the maxtor harddrive cd & floppy disk & the product key numbers
for the OS but they won't work with this copied XP cd that came with it!
......any suggestions will be helpful!...I have ran about every online virus &
trojan scan there is & no infection show up I also have ran ad aware
regularly along with spy bot & hi jack this & got some stuff cleared up with
it but still alot seems to be wrong with it!

Return the computer and get your money back. It's that simple. A copied
installation disk is not a genuine disk.

Its been over a year ago I bought this & disputed it but ebay sided with the
seller & I reported him to microsoft for piracy but they seemed to think
there wasn't much I could do about it!
So I was keeping my fingers crossed all this time that this wouldn't
happen & also kept my anti virus upto date & just unreal that happened with
all the precaution I took as far as having upto date anti virus updated
windows update regular kept ad aware scans every time I used it had zonealarm
free firewall I still got it!

Go to a store and buy a legitimate license for the OS. Then....

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

With second-hand computers, especially if acquired from strangers
but perhaps even if acquired from a family member or friend, your wisest
course of action would probably be to format the hard drives and start
fresh. You don't want to get in trouble because the original owner may
have filled the hard drive with kiddie porn, or have problems because
the original owner downloaded/installed viruses or other malware.
