virus removal software?

Would it be a good idea to have the virus removal tools
on my computer even if I don't have a virus?

Thinking that if one just appeared I would have the stuff
ready to combat it without looking for it. Of course
this would now work if the removal changes over time.

It the virus attacks the removal software how about
keeping it on diskette?

Thanks.

You're kidding right? How would you know you have a virus if you didn't
have something running to tell you that you had one?

Greetings --

As long as you keep your antivirus definitions up-to-date, have a
properly configured firewall, and practice "safe hex," you'll very
probably ever have a need for any virus removal tools. So why clutter
up the hard drive with a bunch of utilities that will never be used?
