Virus problem

Steve

Hi
I keep getting a message saying that I've got a virus, I've run my virus
scan and also Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D but nothing can delete it. The message
says

' Virus Identified as I-Worm/Bagle.F is found in file G:\ SYSTEM VOLUME
INFORMATION\_RESTORE{E2ECA3DS-D7BO-498C-BFB8-4B5F2907B7SE}\RP159\A0019767.EX
E'

To remove this virus please run AVG for Windows.

The antivirus programme detects the virus but does'nt give the option to
remove or quarantine it

Anyone suggest what I can do?

TIA
Steve

It's in your System Volume Restore folder. Google that, or wait ten
minutes, and a half dozen people will post links on McAfee and Symantec as
to how to disable that.

The group's got me talking to myself again......
If no one else will send some links, try these:

How to disable or enable Windows XP System Restore
http://www.brookers.co.nz/SUPPORT/CD-Rom/XP System Restore.htm

Disabling System Restore
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm

Disabling or enabling Windows XP System Restore

Careful of wordwrap on the Symantec links.

The system volume information is a hidden folder. You need to go to
the windows knowledge base and determine how gain access to it. It
varies based on your OS and file system (FAT32 or NTFS). After you
gain access, have AVG search that directory through "tests" "custom
test" and go c:\system volume information. Scan and clean. Good
luck.
