Virus?! Need some suggestions...

dico

Hello,

Our company has a windows 2000 server machine running. It seems to
have a virus of some sort. It creates user accounts (accounts that
already exist in the system)... so actually it is re-creating accounts.

Also, it will not let norton live upate work as there are entries in
the host file. Asking norton to remove those entries doesn't work...
so the win 2000 server can't download the new definitions.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this virus? If i knew
what it was it would be easier to google for help, however i don't
really have a starting point.

Thanks

Since your server has been compromised you must flatten and rebuild.
