I would have thought that MS would have made bloody sure that
this message was not posted to its server. Can they delete the
original message?

I have got 200+ of this virus a day for the last few weeks now and
it is pissing me of no end.

VIRUS ATTACHEMENT

me too.

it seems fairly targeted in the sense that i receive junk mail on various
addresses, but this one only comes through on the address that is registered
with microsoft in my profile there - and comes through by the bucketload.

does this apply to you (or anyone else for that matter) as well? or am i
being paranoid..

You are being paranoid ;-)

But so am I. As of about 4 hours ago I no longer have a
mail system. I have a quota allocated to me which is a "soft"
quota. If I go over it they e-mail me with a message asking
me to try to get rid of some things. I leave my mail on the
server for four days after downloading. I am now so far
over my quota that my mail client cannot log on to my mail
to get any new mail. I cannot log on to the web mail to delete
anything.

In a one hour period last night I got 70 viruses sent to me in
one hour - they were all 155KBytes or 144KBytes each. When
I got the last lot of mail that I was able to get I got about 50
viruses in 15 minutes and each time I tired to get mail there was
an error and I redownloaded some of them 15 times.

This started happening just after I posted to this NG - and I
do not think that this is a coincidence as every one of the 155KByte
e-mails say that it is the latest MS Patch.

I have always claimed that I would not be affected by viruses as I
am very careful what I do - I never considered the possibility of
being sent 250MBytes in one day of viruses.

I get 200-300 daily. I have found that using MAILWASHER to delete at the
server helps a LOT.

When you have that much spam coming in the transition between
cleaning up with MailWasher and then pulling in your email with Outlook
Express is still going to result in pulling in several SPAM messages
that MailWasher would have caught.

It would be best to have them removed by the ISP provider, if possible.
Root around your ISP for junk filter, then even MailWasher
won't have to deal with most of them.

MailWasher won't deal with hotmail unless you pay extra so the following
will directly ihelp those that have a hotmail email account, and those that
have an MSN account. But it might help you to locate what is available
on your own ISP.

My ISP do not handle my mail. My site hoster does and they will
write a script for me to deal with any messages that match any
criteria I choose. I still got 150 in two hours with my first attempt
at a suitable criteria. It is growing by the hour.

If you can check the entire body then check for the string TVqQ
if it is just for yourself. I have no use for any executable and don't know
what it really identifies with but to me it has always identified with virus,
and I check for it in MailWasher. You might also take a quick look at
my notes on MailWasher:
