VirtualDub doesn't work

Hi there!
I just downloaded VirtualDub (1.7.6), but when I want to load a video,
the program doesn't find "IsThreadDesktopComposited" entry point in
user32.dll.
I read another usenet posting and the author says he reverted from IE7
to IE6, but can't do that. (Although I use Firefox I sometimes have to
use IE). I never had this problem before.
Do you know a solution to this problem or do you have a working
version of VirtualDub?

I have used VirtualDub on many different systems without issues - when I do
have issues - I ask those who made the application for help. ;-)
