hi all.
What is the difference between virtual/physical memory. My system info tells
me i have == total physical memory 256.00 MB==
== total virtual memory 2.00 GB==

Physical memory refers to the physical RAM installed on your PC, in this case
256MB. Virtual memory is generally your pagefile which is free space from
your harddisk used by a memory manager to provide your applications with more
memory to work with.

HTH.

I was under the impression that virtual memory was the sum of RAM _and_ the
pagefile(s)?

You are correct, although some people use the term as Mervin
defines it. Some people even uses it both ways, inconsistently.
