Each time i try to change diredtories to anywhere in the file system on this
computer it takes a very long time for it to change and show me whats in the
directory. It happens whether i have other appliation open or not. My system
summary info is listed here. There are also time when it works ok. It is
driving me crazy. I have all wireless things turned off.

This is normally caused by having a unconnected mapped network drive.

When you open Windows Explorer see if any of the possible network drives
show a red mark on the drive icon. If so, click on Tools, Disconnect
Network Drive and see if there are any drives listed that may have been
removed from service (a computer turned off or drive that has been
unshared.) Do the Tools, Disconnect even if no drive is showing to ensure
that a USB device is not "hiding" a network drive.

Let us know what the status is and if there is, in fact a network.
