Virtual PC 6.1 & Windows 2000

The Windows 2000 OS Pack that came with my VPC is Service
Pack 1 and it's been working just fine. I Just bought the
Service Pack 4 CD from Microsoft to upgrade this VPC on my
PowerMac G4 to be compattable with more PC software that
requires at least Service Pack 3, but when trying to
install from the CD I get:

"The application or DLL C:\WINNT\System32\MSISIP.DLL is not
a valid Windows image. Please check this against your
installation diskette."
"( OK )"

After hitting the OK button, I then get:

"Update.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the Program"

"An error log has been created"

After hitting the OK button for this, It goes back to the
original screen that comes up with the Service Pack 4 CD
and the problem just repeats itself and the Service Pack 4
never gets installed.

I went into MY Computer and the file
C:\WINNT\System32\MSISIP.DLL does exist so why is it saying
that it's not a valid windows image? Should I try to
reinstall this file from the VPC OS Pack for Windows 2000
that I got from Connectix? How do ya do this? Or can I
get just this file somewhere else? Like where?

Any help much appreciated !!!

Hi Jack!

Is this machine connected to the Internet at all? If so, you might try using
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to download and install sp4.

Is the CD you purchased directly from Microsoft or was it duplicated from
another source?

Also, are your drive letters out of the ordinary? Typically, C: is your
primary hard disk, D: is your CD.
