Set to 1 1/2 times your RAM

Not necessarily. If the machine only has 128 mb of RAM that will
result in a page file that is much too small for any sort of moderate
to heavy usage.
And if the machine has 1 gb of RAM or more then that would result in
an excessively large page file, much more than is ever likely to be
needed except in very special circumstances.
