Virtual memory

I running XP Home on my PC, have 1.3 GB available on my
HDD, and get the message "out of virtual memory"? HELP!
Where should I begin to look to fix this annoying problem?
 
Tom, rt click on MyComputer>Select
Properties>Advanced>Performance-Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory-Change.
Click on Custom Size. In the Initial Size Box type: 600. In the
Maximum Size Box type: 600. Click on Set. Ok.
