Virtual memory

I am running XP pro and recently it is running very slow
and I occassionally get the message that windows virtual
memory is low. I have doubled the default memory, but it
still happens. What is likely to be the cause of this and
what should it be set at?

It might help to go thru the following article to verify that your pagefile
is configured properly.
308417 HOW TO: Set Performance Options in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=308417

If that does not resolve the problem verify that you have the recommend
amount of memory for the applications running on your machine.
