virtual memory

my computer advises that my virtual memory is low. it also runs very slow.
is there any way that i can increase the virtual memory?

1. Remove viruses and other forms of malware.
2. Reduce the number of running programs.
3. Add RAM.

Hi Will many thanks for the info i think the problem was too many programs
running at the same.it seems to be behaving itself now.
