Virtual Memory Setting

What should I set virtual memory at? Am reserecting an old
HP P111 Computer that has 132mb of ram and a 10gb hard
disk
also what is the pagging file and what should it be set at?
and should it be optimised for programs or background
process

There is not a perfect answer here. The basic rule of thumb is virtual
memory of 1 1/2 times physical memory. However on low memory system I set a
little higher. With 128 mb I would set virtual memory to around 300 meg. I
would also set the system to optimised for programs.
