i just installed 2x512mb memory modules into my computer when i
initially had 2x256, yet when i got on this morning it said virtual
memory is low.. it was using 100k of the about 1000k available of
physical memory and the page file was about 1 gb, so im a little
confused. is there any way of optimizing the performance of my pc? Or
simply getting the computer to recognize the fact that there is still
physical memory available?

Thanks,

Todd B.

I meant it was using 100MB out of 1GB available of physical memory.
Restarting the computer helped, but I don't want to depend on that.

R.click my computer,properties,advanced,performance,virtual memory,
change button, set to "let system manage" click set 2X,close out,a restart
of computer should be prompted.

Terrible advice. No multiple of RAM size is ever appropriate, since the
more RAM you have, the *less* page file you need.
