Virtual memory warnings start when the hard drive is close to not having
enough space for the pagefile size set..
This scenario can start because too many programs are being installed and
too many files are being saved for the space available, or more RAM has been
installed which forces the system managed pagefile size to increase
proportionately, thus filling the drive to near capacity..
For decent hard drive performance, you should look to keep 25% free space if
possible, particularly the primary boot drive..
You have options..
1..
Use Disk Cleanup to rid the drive of unwanted and unnecessary files.. burn
music files, pics etc to CD/DVD and then delete the originals from your hard
drive..
2..
Buy a larger drive.. install it as a slave.. move all of your saved stuff,
documents, music, pictures etc to the slave drive.. burn music files, pics
etc to CD/DVD for backup purposes..
3..
Buy a larger drive.. clone your entire system onto it.. burn music files,
pics etc to CD/DVD for backup purposes..
I have not suggested altering the pagefile size because it is not a good
idea to do so.. a system managed pagefile is best for general use..
