Virtual Machine

I am trying to run Virtual Machine on my laptop but i am experiencing some
performance issues.
I have a dual core processor as i beleived that this would provide the best
performance but this doesn't seem to be the case.
Can anyone please give me some advice on what they beleive to be the best
spec for running Virtual Machine to get the best out of it.
Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How much memory? VM is very memory and hard drive intense, use should have a gig of memory at
minimum to run it.

VMWare (not an MS product) and Virtual PC 2004 (MS) each have websites,
newsgroups, and user forums. You should go to the website of whichever
product you are using for system requirements. As someone else
mentioned, RAM is key.
