Hi,

Recently I used partition magic to resize a partition, taking space from my
main system partition. I had C: (System), D: (Data), E: & F: (DVD & CD-R).

Having resized, etc I now have a new G: called Virtual Clonedrive. It
doesn't do anything and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Stu

Stuart, Virtual CloneDrive has nothing to do with the Partition Magic
program. It is (per a Google search) a download used for copying CD's. The
question is, how did it get there?

Virtual CloneDrive
a.. Simulates CD and DVD drives - no CD writer needed!
b.. Much faster than real CD and DVD drives!
c.. Mounts images from your harddrive or the local network
d.. Outstandingly useful for companies, living communities and LAN parties
e.. Supports the following image types: CCD, IMG, BIN, ISO, UDF
f.. Works with CD and DVD images
g.. Automatically adjusts the Region Code of DVD images
h.. No CD-Rs needed, noise-free - saves power, nerves and time!
i.. Access to individual files of mounted images via Explorer
j.. Enables burning of third-party images (BIN, ISO, UDF) with CloneCD
k.. System conformant assignment of drive letters
l.. Uses Sheep Icons for easy recognition of virtual drives
m.. Proven to be stable and fast, does not need an ASPI driver
n.. Distinguished technical support und customer care
o.. 24 hours, 7 days a week access to new updates and online help

I am confused. I have not downloaded anything recently that even remotely
matches that description. It was not there before I re-sized my partitions
but immediately after re-booting - there it was! That's why I assumed it was
PM that did it.

So, seeing as I don't even know how to use it or why, can I get rid?

I have just tried looking at it again. When I click it a dialogue tells me
to insert a disk into drive G.
I cannot copy anything to it, etc... There is no disc to put in drive G as
it is not an actual drive. I may be missing something here.

Sorry

Never having used Partition Magic, and so not knowing all its many powers, I
suppose there is an outside chance that you inadverently opted for some
exotic option within Partition Magic. Seems a bit squirrely, though.
Do a Google search for both programs simultaneously, to see if they have
some sort of "relationship" going on. Tut tut!
