VIRTPART

After backing up my hard drive, I noticed that a DAT file was created on the
computer called VIRTPART. The first time I backed up (oh...using Norton
Ghost and backing up to an external H D) my c: drive, there was no VIRTPART
DAT file created. The first time I did not assign a USB port, and just let
Norton Ghost back up which worked fine. The second time I did assign USB 2.2
and thats when The VIRTPART file was created on my C: drive. My question
is...if I lose my system and must restore from a boot disk, what good is the
DAT file ? Should I just clone My c: drive and not assign any drivers like
the first time ? Thanks for any help : ]

Why not ask Norton?
Most of the MS kids can't afford a new hard drive let alone new backup
sottware.
For non computer junkies (i think they are called users) a nice 20 GB tape
back up unit with ASR (Windows PRO only) witll seem like magic and you can
use Windows NTBACKUP.EXE for free, saving your money for lots of tapes. But
go ahaed and do thinks the hard way because some computer junkie said to.
lol
(And for all thise that purchased OEM HOME on MFG'ed jusk, my deepest
empathy, but now you know.

S. J., You would be surprised at how affordable external H. D's are these
days. And because of lots of tweaks done to win xp, this was a simple way to
back up the entire drive.
