Viewing Vvrtual com port activity

Hi,

I am running a USB device (Garmin LT-20) that has a serial emulator
app that uses virtual com port 2. Is there a way using hyperterminal
or
another tool to monitor the data tranfers without interfering with the
flow?

Tried Portmon but it didn't pick up virtual ports.
