I guess you could, but why bother? The entries aren't hurting anything,
and
aren't going to slow your PC down, so. . .
If you start going through the registry and remove entries for hardware
and
software that used to be installed, you'll never finish before senility
sets
in ;-)
HRD will communicate FLDIGI and WSPR will 'not' via same port
(not at the same time of course)
Odd problem has occured .... using a USB to Serial cable for the
FT-897-D
HRD will communicate normally and control the rig ..
I have 3 sets of software ...all of them use the same serial
link to the radio set ....one ham radio delux HRD works
normally .. but the other 2 progs - fldigi and wspr .. will
not communicate with the rig via the port ..
Its been sugested that the reg entry for the no longer existing
ports are causing the problem ...
I could try a lower com port number ..its set to 11 at the
moment ?

Not familiar with ham since waaaay back when (and there were no PC's then
), but maybe the problem is with the USB-to-serial cable? We used them
for PLC programming where I worked and they were almost all flaky at best.
If you have no physical serial ports on the new MB, maybe a serial card
would be better?
You could always try a lower port number. If it doesn't work, you're no
worse off than you are now.
