Viewing message source

OK, a third attempt to get an answer from somebody.
I'm running OL2000. Is it possible to view the full message source (not just
headers), like it is in Outlook Express? I've found this for OL2003:
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/view_source.htm Any way to make it work for
OL2000?
If there is no way, then I would presume, since Office 2000 is still in its
mainstream support, Microsoft could release an update for OL2000 so that one can
use the registry setting that also works for OL2003? I'll bet this would not be
a problem, would it?

Hi...

To view the full header info for an email in Outlook 2000 open the email up
in a separate window and goto 'view/options'. There you will see your
internet header info.

Got that?

No. Outlook has long modified the actual message prior to presentation.
You can see the headers (right click the message subject in the Inbox list
and choose "Options"), but you cannot see the message body as it actually
arrived.

I know I can see the headers of course. As you might know, in Outlook Express
you can see the actual message source which includes the message body itself, so
you see it essentially before it's decoded by the mailing application. For
example, in quoted-printable coded messages, you can see the = signs and coded
characters.
I wonder why Outlook 2000 lacks such a functionality. Remember, Outlook Express
is free whereas you have to pay expensive $$ for Outlook, yet Outlook does not
have this function. Any thoughts on that? Any good reason for that?

Yes. I, like you, wish it were otherwise.
Any good reason for that?

You'll have to ask the Outlook developers about that. I personally can't
imagine any.

OK thanks. I thought the MVPs around here might chime in with some insights, but
they don't seem to have any, so I should just suppose that no one knows
anything.
