Viewing Local Disc (C) files and folders

If I want to view my files and folders on Local Disc (c), I NOW have to right
click my mouse and choose "open" or "explore" from the options menu. Before,
all I had to do was double click on the Local Disc (C) folder, and all the
files and folders would appear for that drive. However, NOW if I perform that
action, I get the Search Results folder everytime. Why, and how did this
change, and what can I do to get the Search Results folder from opening up,
and have all of my files and folders appear instead?
