viewing images while browsing

On most websites the images are not viewable. Changing
the "show pictures" setting does nothing. I've reinstalled
IE to no avail! Has anyone experienced this?

Hi,

What do you see instead of the images? Red crosses?

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing / fuzzy
images/distorted images

Are you sure it are images and not

- Java applets (download and install Java Virtual Machine from
http://java.sun.com)
- Flash animations (download and install Flash player from
http://www.macromedia.com)
