Viewing Dial-up Connection in System tray

Does anyone know how I can view my dial up connection
status in the system tray. I can't understand why WinXP
Pro disables it???

Right click "My Network Places" --> properties--> find your dial up
connection--> right click it--> properties--> check "Show icon in
notification area when connected"
