Viewing AVI's

I have windows XP Pro. Whenever I try to download an AVI file, the download
goes through but when i play it in Winamp, it doesn't come up and i end up
deleting it and realize that I have wasted my time.... I am able to watch
MPeg's and other types of video's but it seems that I can never watch an AVI
file. Is there a program out there that i need to get in order to watch
AVI's? Request anyone to steer me in the right direction in order to view
some critical files. Thanks in advance.

that is probably because the avi file is a DivX file and needs special
codecs to be played.
Use this link to download the codecs and you should be able to play them in
Media Player
or WinAmp.
